Sorry, but the Liopleurodon portrayed in walking with dinosaurs was exaggerated to monstrous proportions, but, I wouldn't want to swim with him around!
I received requests for the largest marine animal ever found. The Shonisaurus Sikanniensis was the largest marine reptile ever found. Some paleontologists have speculated that it could have reached lengths of more than 75 feet! It was related to the smaller Temnonodontosaurus pictured here. Sorry, but the Liopleurodon portrayed in walking with dinosaurs was exaggerated to monstrous proportions, but, I wouldn't want to swim with him around!

Yes, you're right professor. Liopleurodon, sometimes called kronosaurus was probably around thirty feet long.It had a longer head and more powerful jaws than a mosasaur. I like your artwork very much. Good Luck with your website. I'LL BE BACK!

Thanks for the info. Rockman. I have always been interested in prehistoric marine reptiles due to the fact that they were originally land creatures who returned to an aquatic environment and adapted to it. Of course the question remains. What caused them to become extinct as did many of the large land dwelling creatures. Maybe one of our viewers can give us some ideas.
